2nd Shift Line Operator – Inkjet

Responsible for reading and understanding work sheet notes and instructions as related to the ink jet process. Must have good knowledge of how to sort mail for the USPS and be familiar with all our products addressing on this line.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn and understand mail sorting process per postal rules
- Review all paperwork (qualification reports, tray tags and tray identifier sheet)
- Match customer code on work sheet with piece and the database and make file for inking
- Apply tray tags carefully to mail trays for sorting mail
- Follow QR report and tray tags to ensure all mail is in the correct trays
- Must understand how to download and change data in the software and save job into the DOD running program
- Able to setup and load feeder
- Run one good quality control sample and check all fields, quality of print and position required by postal regulation using supplied USPS template before starting
- Check quality of type throughout the run
- Most likely limited to postcards and jumbo postcards
- Seek help with certain inkjet requests and master setups
- Learn to troubleshoot feeder, conveyor, heater, and other issues that arise and seek help
- Must be able to run and maintain average standards

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software and software that determines the cuts.
Education Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in USPS bulk mail sorting and have some mechanical abilities to run and troubleshoot tabbing equipment.
